Daily, thousands of Nigerians throng international embassies in search of visa. The crowd at a time became so overwhelming that some embassies had to change their visa policies in order to manage the situation. Today, hundreds of thousands of Nigerian immigrants’ are resident abroad. Research shows that of this number, more than two-third are illegal immigrants. They may have out-rightly traveled illegally or entered legal, but continued to stay after the expiration of their visas, illegally. A lot of these Nigerians because of their disadvantaged status as illegal immigrants are often susceptible to exploitation and all forms of odd and debasing jobs. ... |
